Stephen Zelnick

Stephen Zelnick, Associate Professor, attended public schools in Philadelphia and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Temple University in 1963 and his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois in 1969. He has been a member of the Department of English at Temple University since 1969. Stephen Zelnick has served as director of several undergraduate programs at Temple University, including Director of the University Writing Program and Director of the Intellectual Heritage Program. Nationally, he is the co-founder and past President of the Association for Core Texts and Courses (ACTC). Internationally, he has served as a consultant on humanities programs in Russia, Georgia, and post-Soviet Central Asia. He is a former president of the Faculty Senate at Temple University and editor of the Faculty Herald. He has also held administrative posts at Temple University, serving on the staff of President Peter Liacouras and more recently as Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies. He teaches Victorian Literature and has published on numerous topics in British and American literature.
