I'm thrilled to be an Assistant Professor in the English department at Temple, which I joined in fall 2008. I obtained my M.A. (2004) and Ph.D. (2008) in English at the University of California, Irvine, after completing a Masters degree in Womens Studies at Oxford University (2000). My research and teaching interests include sixteenth- and seventeenth century British literature in general, and the drama of Shakespeare and his contemporaries, in particular; philosophy and critical theory; women's writing, and gender studies, and I try to mix these things up as much as possible. Currently, I'm working on a book project analyzing political life and its exceptions, from Aristotle to Agamben, Attic tragedy to Restoration comedy.
You can find my article "The Sexual Politics of Pain: Hannah Arendt Meets Shakespeare's Shrew" [Journal of Cultural and Religious Theory 7.2 (2006):18-32] here: http://www.jcrt.org/archives.
