- All candidates planning to graduate in the fall or spring should pay special attention to the deadline dates for filing applications for graduation. Candidates should also review the Graduate School’s website, www.temple.edu/grad for additional information and application forms well in advance of these deadlines. There are no exceptions or extensions for the University application deadline for graduation.
2. All dissertation defenses must be scheduled and announced to the Department at least two weeks prior to the defense. Submit a draft of your cover page to the graduate office when scheduling your defense date. All defenses must be held while the university is in session. Outside readers for the dissertation must be arranged no later than the beginning of the semester in which the defense will be held. Doctoral candidates must deposit the final copy of their dissertation within four weeks of the defense date or you will be asked to defend again.
