hyPHen is Temple University's newest undergraduate literary magazine. In addition to providing a much-needed outlet to the writing community, hyPHen combines the efforts of both students and faculty to produce an annual, high-quality magazine that strives to represent the diverse student population. If you were truly moved by Rick Springfield's post-"Jessie's Girl" soap opera career, perhaps you should pick up a copy today.

Writing submissions should not be longer than 7 pages and art work should be in black and white only. Include a copy of the work on disk if possible. Also include a cover sheet with name, address, phone and email.

Submission drop-off locations:

  • English Department mailroom, 10th floor Anderson Hall (hyPHen mailbox is on your left)
  • Honors Lounge, 204 Tuttleman
  • Beech Hall, Tyler

For the latest copy of hyPHen, submission information, the next deadline for material, or any other inquiries, contact the editors at:
